Day 1 ~ Arrive in peace & taste
Upon your arrival in Andalusia, where you will be personally welcomed by Jan Gerard, we will travel to the idyllic Lecrín Valley: a green oasis between Granada and the Mediterranean Sea. Here, the rhythm slows down by itself. White villages, citrus groves and the scent of orange blossoms welcome us.
We start with a leisurely lunch with local products: homegrown olive oil, seasonal vegetables and Andalusian classics. During this lunch, Jan Gerard will explain the itinerary for the coming days. After lunch, check-in is at our beautiful Andalusian accommodation where we will stay for the next few days. At the end of the afternoon, there is a walk through the Lecrin Valley.
For dinner this evening, we'll sit down at a local restaurant for a delicious evening of tapas prepared in all simplicity but full of regional flavors. Local wines for those who want to complete the dinner.
Day 2 ~ Wines & Truffles
Today, we immerse ourselves in the magic of the Alhambra. With an expert guide, we'll discover the sophisticated Moorish architecture, geometric perfection and the tranquil Generalife gardens. An experience that touches on art, history and spirituality. You can actually spend hours in the Alhambra to discover new things over and over again. After the Alhambra, we'll explore Granada's historic center on foot. The narrow streets of the Albayzín, the impressive cathedral and the lively squares bring Granada's rich layers to life. This is a day full of impressions, history, culture, experiencing the Moorish era and deepening cultural values. This evening, dinner is in a classic Spanish restaurant.
Day 3 ~ Wine, Land & Art
Today we visit the beautiful Muñana bodega, located high up with a view of the Sierra Nevada. Here we meet the winemaker, walk among the vines and taste characterful wines that reflect the terroir. A delicious lunch is a rural and pure atmosphere with lots of regional products, a good glass of wine and good conversations.
In the afternoon, we opt for a cultural deepening with a visit to the Granada Capital Art Gallery, one of Granada's most famous galleries located on the Gran Vía de Colón. This gallery shows a high-quality selection of contemporary artworks by local and international artists. Modern art, Andalusian expression or historical collections, always with room for reflection. This evening, dinner is at Hotel Restautant Elycium in the village of Melegis (El Valle). This amazing restaurant by Dutch Jasmine and her husband chef de cuisine Michael is a feast for the eyes. The beautiful dining room overlooking the kitchen exudes luxury and finesse with an eye for detail. Jan Gerard discovered Elysium in 2025 and noted that this was his best restaurant experience of the year 2025. Jan Gerard wrote a nice article about it for the magazine Por Favor Spain.
Day 4 ~ Sea, light & relaxation
After a busy few days, we drive to the Costa Tropical and reach Almuñécar, where mountains and sea meet. The salty air and the Mediterranean light provide a pleasant sense of freedom. Lunch at the beach is relaxed and tasty: fresh fish, good wine and the sound of the waves in the background.
The afternoon is free to spend: a walk along the coast, a terrace in the sun or simply enjoying the view. The final dinner this evening will consist of Spanish tapas dishes, all of them enjoying all those delicious flavors.
Day 5 ~ Closing in balance
After breakfast, we say goodbye to each other and with a lot of new impressions and experiences, you can work at home with the inspiration and knowledge gained. Who wants to go back to the Netherlands and for enthusiasts who want to stay in Italy a little longer, they will move on to their next destination.
